Our History

These rooms, open today to welcome tourists and travelers, housed for so much of the 1900s the notary's office of my grandfather Andrea, then my father Italo and finally my sister Paola. This which is our family home, where I grew up and still live, was once part of the vast complex of the Dominican Friars, which includes the present "Govone" Classical High School - where I studied - and the church of San Domenico - where I got married in 1967. The church, a Gothic-Romanesque jewel returned to the city thanks to the efforts of the Famija Albeisa and the contribution of all the people of Alba, now hosts exhibitions and concerts.

The "beautiful" San Domenico, as it was called in town, and as my mother Ida affectionately called it, has thus always been my regular view.

I really like the idea of sharing this panorama with other people who love the Beautiful, who from all over the world will find hospitality here, thus also overlooking this small square so dear to me.

My father was also a person who loved the Beautiful and the Good in life, always full of enthusiasm, generosity, irony and passion: he was an authentic Man of Langa! And I am sure that his positive spirit still permeates these ancient walls, where he worked for so long, and that something of his joie de vivre from now on will remain with you to cheer you up.

It is nice that these rooms open to guests on this very day, on his birthday. For this very day, September 20, 2012, my father Italo Ferrero would have turned 100 years old.
